Purpose: To Coordinate community wide jail ministry efforts and develop existing and new Bridge Ministry Partners to support men and women during incarceration and transition into aftercare.
TrueNorth Star Ministries is working in a cooperative effort with churches, ministries, social service agencies, and the Department of Corrections to create and expand:
Jacob shares about overcoming childhood trauma, parents separating, and rebelling against his mother and stepfather and at age 12, went to live with his father in California. As a young teenager, being surrounded by a criminal environment led to several wrong choices, getting arrested, and spending time in jail. He cried out to God while in jail (Psalm 107) and God heard his cry! He spent some time in faith based recovery in Portland and eventually ended up at the Ranch in Lookingglass.
The purpose of the Triumph Over Trauma workshops is to facilitate the full restoration of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health to the Church by training and equipping the Body of Christ ministry leaders, service providers, parents and caregivers to recognize and respond to survivors of trauma and abuse.
We serve in this way in order to coordinate community-wide jail ministry efforts and develop existing and new Bridge Ministry Partners to support men and women during incarceration and transition into aftercare.
Our efforts in aftercare and mentoring exist to Redeem lives by supporting men & women recovering from substance abuse, and/or transitioning from jail or prison through intensive aftercare including intervention, education, counseling, mentoring, vocational apprenticeships, and training in practical life-skills.
